User Interface Navigation for Product List and Master

GreeneStep Login

  1. To login in to GreeneStep, open the GreeneStep exe.

  2. The default Login and company details are available in the login screen. To login as a different user or login to a different company, close the Login window and click on the Login icon in the top right of the main screen.

  1. Enter the login details and select the company from the drop down. Click on Login button.

  1. The main screen appears. This screen will have Menu and other options based on the security rights assigned to the logged in User.


Product List


To access the Product List, in the main screen go to Products > Masters> Products. Double click on the Products. The Products List opens up.

Operations and various actions that can be performed in this screen


  1. The record can be retrieved by typing the search criteria in the search box. The various options for search are


  1. Exact Search - When this option is checked, the record is searched on the selected column and based on the exact text in the search box.

  2. Multi Column Search - When this option is checked, the record is searched on the multiple columns (not only the selected column) and based on the text entered in the search box.

  3. Wildcard Search - When this option is checked, the record is searched based on the text entered in the search box and text can also be a part of the searched field.


  1. The record can be grouped on any column. To do this


  1. Right click on the column header and select the option ‘Group by this column’ or

  2. Drag and drop the column header in the space as given below

  1. You can add or remove columns from the List.


  1. Right click on the column header and click on ‘Remove this column’ to remove the column from the List.

Note: The column ‘Code’ cannot be removed from the List.


  1. Right click on the column header and click on columns. The columns that are currently not displayed in the Product List are listed. Drag and drop the column in the header section in the appropriate position to add the column from the list. To remove any column, drag and drop the column header to the list.

  1. After making the necessary changes to the List, the setting can be saved. Right click on the title bar and click on ‘Save Settings’. The window opens up as per the saved settings.

  1. To get back the default settings, right click on the title bar and click on ‘Restore default settings’.

Product Master

To create a new Product, click (+) sign or use ‘Insert’ key on keyboard from the Product List.  You can also go to Menu and select ‘New’.


In the Product Master there are multiple tabs under which you can enter the data based on your business requirement.

Main Tab: Enter the Product Code, Description, Internal Part number, UPC. Select the Category, Classification, Type, Stock UOM, Manufacturer, Brand. Some of these fields are auto filled with default values that is set in the Region level. The default values can be changed if required.

Settings Tab: There are 2 selections

Use Batch Tracking – When this option is checked the Product can be tracked using the Batch numbers.

Autogenerate Batch Numbers – When this option is selected, the Batch number is automatically generated.

Sales Tab: Enter the sales related details such as Sales UOM, Price, Price Type, Pricing Group, Dimensions etc. A Product can have more that one Sales UOM and separate pricing for each UOM can be set. To add more than one UOM and price details press the down arrow and add the relevant details. The options to set decimal accuracy and if the price defined is tax inclusive are also available.

Purchase Tab: Enter the purchase details such as Purchase UOM, Cost, Decimal accuracy. Select the options if the cost is Tax inclusive, if the product is drop ship product etc. in this tab.

Restocking Tab:  Enter the restocking details such as Minimum, Reorder, Maximum quantities, Supplier details and other relevant information.

Cost Tab: The cost details are displayed and some of these values can be modified and Accounting Group can be selected.

Accessories: The accessories that needs to be sold along with the Product can be added here. These Products need to be available in the system.

Substitutes: Add the Substitutes to the Product.

Webstore: Enter the webstore details of the Product such as summary, description, images to be displayed in the webstore here.

Extended Data:  Enter additional data to the Product based on your requirement.
